ANNE HEEMSKERK, FLAUTIST

King's Lynn, Norfolk (UK)

TEACHING

Anne Heemskerk teaches the music at the West Norfolk Music Centre and from her home, King's Lynn (Norfolk).

The class is open to the transverse flute, historical performance practice (renaissance, baroque, classical and romantic flutes), piano, chamber music, music theory and introduction to music. The music lessons are open to all levels and ages. Anne always makes sure all pupils with a desire to express themselves with the music can benefit from her class. She has a very strong attraction to intuitive learning and tend to guide her pupils toward self-awareness and independence.

The tuitions can cover topics such as technique, sensitivity, tone, intonation, breathing, building confidence, flute evolution, traditions, specificity of the flute, playing with others and playing for others. With her pupils she is sometimes more explicit when facing a difficulty and might explains with talks and / or through exercices. She also plays along with the flute or the piano and guide them toward their intuition and self-awareness. Anne noticed how likely her pupils are growing confidence, interest and understanding while playing alongside with her.

Anne is very flexible and will tailored the lessons with you, depending of your requests, goals and needs. Beside the classique & baroque musique repertoire, she will also be happy to teach you different other kind of music (pop, jazz, traditional…).

In addition to the individual lesson, Anne encourages her pupils to play with others and organises classes for them to meet and play.

Frequently Anne organises projects for her pupils such as workshops, informal concerts and public concerts. You are welcome to come, perform, listen and /or meet other musicians. In any case Anne makes sure you always feel comfortable and reach your goal(s) with the music.
